KUCHING, Sept 3: The China International Fair Trade in Services (CIFTIS) 2023, held at the China National Convention Centre in Beijing, China, offers participants the opportunity to form new networks and meet new business partners in China, as well as conduct trade negotiations and form trade cooperation.
According to a press release, Sarawak Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan, who is also the International Trade, Industry, and Investment (Mintred) Sarawak Minister, officiated the Sarawak Pavilion at CIFTIS 2023.
The Sarawak Pavilion, spearheaded by Mintred Sarawak, serves as a platform for Sarawak’s agencies to promote potential investment and cooperation opportunities that are currently available or will be available in the near future.
The Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China (MOFCOM) organises CIFTIS 2023, which focuses on business services, communication services, construction and related engineering services, distribution services, educational services, environmental services, financial services, health and social services, tourism and travel-related services, recreational, cultural and sports services, transportation services, and other services.
Among those expected to attend are dignitaries from various countries, heads of international organisations, as well as domestic and foreign government departments and business chambers.
CIFTIS 2023 is currently being held in the Chinese capital from Sept 2 to 6.
Accompanying the Deputy Premier were Tourism, Creative Industry, and Performing Arts (MTCP) Sarawak Minister Dato Sri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah, MTCP Sarawak Deputy Minister Datuk Sebastian Ting Chiew Yew, Mintred Sarawak Deputy Minister Datuk Dr Malcolm Mussen Lamoh, as well as Sarawak delegates from MTCP, Regional Corridor Development Authority (RECODA), Sarawak Timber Industry Development Corporation (STIDC), Ministry of Infrastructure and Port Development (MIPD) Sarawak, Ministry of Education, Innovation, and Talent Development (MEITD) Sarawak, Sarawak Biodiversity Centre (SBC), Sarawak Tourism Board (STB), Business Events Sarawak (BESarawak), SCC, and SAC. — DayakDaily
