KUCHING, Jan 25: Sarawak para athletes Muhammad Razif Iskandar and Abang Yahya Abang Azhar struck gold in the men’s doubles tenpin bowling event at the 13th ASEAN Para Games, boosting Malaysia’s medal tally at the regional meet in Thailand.
According to a press release, the duo, representing the Malaysian contingent, delivered a strong performance to clinch the top podium finish in the event.
Minister of Women, Early Childhood and Community Wellbeing Development Sarawak Dato Sri Fatimah Abdullah presented medals to the tenpin bowling para athletes during the award ceremony held in conjunction with the Games.
In tenpin bowling, Malaysia enjoyed an impressive outing, collecting a total of five gold, five silver and one bronze medals. Sarawak athletes played a key role in the success, contributing one gold, one silver and one bronze medals to the overall tally.
Fatimah is in Nakhon Ratchasima, Thailand, from Jan 24 to Jan 26 to extend her support and encouragement to Malaysian para athletes, particularly those from Sarawak, who are competing in the 13th ASEAN Para Games.
