KUCHING, Jan 2: Sarawak welcomes international tourists at the Immigration, Customs, Quarantine and Security (ICQS) Complex in Biawak as part of the Nationwide Entry Points and Main Transport Hubs Celebrations under Visit Malaysia 2026 (VM2026), aimed at boosting tourist arrivals.
According to Sarawak Public Communications Unit (UKAS) news, Kuching Division Resident Dayang Joanita Awang Morshidi officiates the programme, which welcomes international tourists to Malaysia.
ICQS Biawak is picked as a key entry point in Sarawak, connecting the State to Kalimantan and welcoming incoming tourists.
As part of a nationwide effort by Tourism Malaysia, the celebration takes place at 55 main entry points, public transport hubs in 13 states and three federal territories.
The event showcases Malaysia’s efforts to strengthen its image as a world-class tourism destination while promoting Sarawak’s culture, natural treasures and diverse tourism products.
The Sarawak Government and its agencies continue to support VM2026 to ensure the tourism sector remains a key contributor to both the State and national economy.
