KUCHING, June 18: Sarawak now has one Covid-19 free district after Limbang reported no new Covid-19 local infection cases in the last 14 days.

The State previously lost its last Covid-19 free stronghold, Telang Usan, after the district reported nine local cases on June 5, which saw it turned into a yellow Covid-19 zone.

According to the State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC), Limbang currently have four active cases still receiving treatment for Covid-19.

“With Limbang turning back into a green zone, the number of yellow zones in the State have decreased to six,” the Committee said in a daily statement today.

The yellow districts are Simunjan, Saratok, Pusa, Belaga, Lawas and Daro.

Meanwhile, Marudi and Betong remain the last two orange districts after Tebedu joined other red districts today.

“Tebedu reported 28 new Covid-19 cases today, which saw its cumulative local cases within the last 14 days increasing to 52,” the Committee added. — DayakDaily
