Sarawak logs zero new Covid-19 cases

KUCHING, May 28: Sarawak today reported zero new Covid-19 cases.

The State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) in a statement revealed the cumulative number of Covid-19 positive cases remains at 552.

Meanwhile, there are 76 new person-under-investigation (PUI) cases while 166 PUI cases are awaiting laboratory results.

The committee also disclosed that there are 10 Covid-19 patients who have recovered and were discharged from hospitals today.

From these 10 patients, three are from Sarawak General Hospital (SGH), three from Sibu Hospital, two from Bintulu Hospital and two from Miri Hospital.

The committee noted there were 129 people who have returned to Sarawak today. They were registered as persons-under-surveillance (PUS) and placed at various hotels throughout Sarawak for quarantine.

SDMC disclosed that 666 Sarawakians are still undergoing quarantine at hotels as PUS while 12,044 PUS have completed their 14-day quarantine to-date.

On another note, the committee revealed that the police arrested 29 people yesterday for violating the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) and 36 people received compounds for trying to travel interstate without police permits. ā€” DayakDaily
