KUCHING, Jan 25: Sarawak has recorded 10 new Covid-19 cases today, bringing the cumulative number of cases in the State to 252,719.
According to the Sarawak Disaster Management Committee’s (SDMC) daily Covid-19 update report, three cases are in Category 1 (no symptoms), six cases are in Category 2 (mild symptoms), and one case is classified as being in Category 5 with a lung infection and requiring ventilator support.
Breaking it down by district, Miri and Sibu recorded three cases each, followed by Limbang with two cases and Sarikei and Pusa with one case each.
No new clusters or deaths were reported.
Meanwhile, under the Ministry of Health’s report, seven compounds were issued to individuals (3) and companies (4) for not complying with the standard operating procedures (SOPs). The compounds were issued in Kuching (3), Serian (3), and Saratok (1).
The offences committed are premises owners’ failure to limit the number of customers (3 companies), refusing to undergo quarantine under Section 14 (2 individuals), and other offences (1 individual, 1 company).
Under the police, seven compounds were issued in Kuching for failure to scan the MySejahtera QR code or record one’s attendance before entering premises. — DayakDaily
