Sarawak lion dance teams set to roar at National Southern Lion Dance Championship 2025

KUCHING, Nov 30: Sarawak’s lion dance troupes are ready to showcase their skills on the national stage as the National Southern Lion Dance Championship 2025 kicks off in Kuala Lumpur on Dec 6.

Lien Heng Wushu Association will lead the State’s representation, alongside other prominent teams including Tian Eng Ban Hock Team A and B of the Sarawak Tian Ying Dragon & Lion Academy and the Sheng Huang Dragon & Lion Dance Association from Kuching.

This morning, the Lien Heng Wushu Association held a eye-dotting and flag-off ceremonies at the Sarawak United Peoples’ Party (SUPP) headquarters to officially send off the teams.

The event was graced by Sarawak Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Dr Sim Kui Hian and Sarawak Minister of Transport Datuk Seri Lee Kim Shin, among other invited guests.

During the ceremony, Dr Sim wished all participating teams success and encouraged them to bring pride to Sarawak with their performances. — DayakDaily
