KUCHING, Oct 3: A delegation from the Sarawak Legislative Assembly (DUS) was recently hosted at a dinner in Washington, DC, in the United States, highlighting the international dimension of Sarawak’s legislative engagement.
According to a press release, the delegation, led by DUS Speaker Tan Sri Datuk Amar Mohamad Asfia Awang Nassar, was received by Tan Sri Muhammad Shahrul Ikram Yaakob, Ambassador of Malaysia to the US, at his official residence in Washington.
The informal setting allowed for meaningful interaction between all parties, creating opportunities for closer networking and strengthening personal ties.
This reception also complemented the delegation’s official programme in the United States, which focused on institutional learning and legislative exchanges, by providing a platform for cultural connection and reflection.
