KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 21: Sarawak laksa, kolo mee, dabai fruit, kek lapis (layer cake), penyaram, celorot – you name it, and Lan Berambeh Anak Sarawak 2023 has it all.
If you’re craving Sarawak cuisine and other products, head over to the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC) in Kuala Lumpur today.
Organised by Sarawak Volunteers Association (Sarawak Volunteers) with the support of the Sarawak government, the one-day event features over 100 exhibition booths from various Sarawak agencies and companies as well as sales booths offering local food and craft products.
The event commenced from 9am and will end around 6pm.
Deputy Prime Minister Dato Sri Fadillah Yusof, who is also Sarawak Volunteers patron, led a delegation touring the Sarawak products pavilion at the venue.
He said the exhibition booths serve to provide information on the Sarawak government’s policies and planning while the private sector displayed their development projects with the State government.
“This would allow the visitors or students to get an insight on the employment opportunities and the learning courses related to those industries especially on new energy and technology.
“When they graduate, they would have high opportunity to work with the relevant companies.
“Thus, we are expecting up to 10,000 visitors or even more to the pavilion,” he told reporters.
Also present were Minister of Women, Family and Community Development Dato Sri Nancy Shukri; Deputy Minister of Rural and Regional Development Datuk Rubiah Wang; Deputy Minister of Health Dato Lukanisman Awang Sauni; Deputy Minister of Economy Dato Hanifah Hajar Taib; Sarawak’s Deputy Minister for Urban Planning Land Administration and Environment Datuk Len Talif Salleh; Serian MP Dato Sri Richard Riot; Puncak Borneo MP Datuk Willie Mongin; Igan MP Ahmad Johnie Zawawi; Tanjung Manis MP Yusuf Abdul Wahab; Betong MP Dr Richard Rapu; Batang Sadong MP Rodiyah Sapiee and Batang Lupar MP Mohamad Shafizan Kepli. — DayakDaily
