KUCHING, July 6: Those looking for employment are encouraged to register with JobsMalaysia, where they will be recognised as an active job seeker within the system.
State Labour deputy director Sulaiman Ismail said this will improve their chances to find job placement in the labour market.
In addition, this would be especially beneficial to those who often missed out on job fairs in their area, he added.
“We urge those who could not make it to our job fair, do register with JobsMalaysia instead, in order for you to be registered automatically as an active job seeker within the system.
“This is to ensure job seekers have the opportunity to be placed in the labour market anywhere. That includes the Peninsular Malaysia because employers from the peninsula are also linked to the system,” he told reporters at the department’s JobFair programme here today.
About 20 companies and employers took part in the programme held at the Urban Transformation Centre (UTC).
Sulaiman advised youths to not be picky when looking out for jobs.
“When you got a job offer that is different from what you’re studying, accept it. Consider it as the beginning of your career development. Experience is key here,” he said.
The department will organise another career fair next month called Jelajah Kerjaya Kenyalang 3.0 in Kota Samarahan, Sibu, Betong and the city.
