Sarawak KPDN director: Sufficient food supply ahead of Aidilfitri celebration

KUCHING, April 5: There is sufficient food supply ahead of the upcoming Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration, assures Sarawak Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) director Matthew Dominic Barin.

He said Sarawak is not experiencing any food supply issues especially when festivals are around the corner.

“For Hari Raya celebrations, the supply is sufficient and the prices are as usual,” he said when met by reporters after paying a courtesy call on the Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg at Wisma Bapa Malaysia here yesterday.


Matthew added, according to a news report by Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas), Sarawak KPDN will implement price controls for certain items soon.

Meanwhile, he revealed that his meeting with Abang Johari was to discuss about the current food supply situation in Sarawak. — DayakDaily
