KUCHING, March 25: Sarawak is keen to emulate Switzerland in developing its healthcare sector with the presence of two of the world’s top medical companies, Novartis and Roche, in the country.
According to TVS, Deputy Premier of Sarawak, Datuk Amar Dr Sim Kui Hian, said that the courtesy call he received today from the Ambassador-Designate of Switzerland to Malaysia, Chantal Moser, also provided an opportunity to follow up on their visit to Switzerland last year.
“We also want to see what more we can do beyond what we are doing now because we always need to ensure that we make progress,” he said to the media after the courtesy call at Wisma Bapa Malaysia here today.
Meanwhile, Moser said that her discussion with the Sarawak government gave her the opportunity to explore new areas of cooperation between Switzerland and Sarawak, including strengthening ongoing collaborative efforts.
She said she was excited to collaborate and learn about the Sarawak government’s efforts in sustainability and renewable energy.
“This is my first visit to Sarawak, and the purpose of this visit is focused largely on sustainability and exploring the scope of cooperation, as well as following up on the delegation visit from Sarawak to Switzerland previously,” she said. — DayakDaily
