Sarawak Jombola Association committed to elevating, promoting sport

KUCHING, July 31: Sarawak Jombola Association is committed to elevating the sport to a higher level in the future.

Its president Kennedy Chukpai Ugon said this is in line with Sarawak’s dream of becoming one of the country’s leading sports powerhouses.


“We also aims to promote the Jombola sport as community sports activities in Sarawak.

“This is how we are going to bring this sports to every country so that this sport can reach a higher level,” he told reporters during a press conference held after officiating at the closing ceremony for ‘Jombola Sarawak 2022 Coaching and Technical Introductory Course’ held at Pandalela Rinong Aquatic Centre in Petra Jaya here, today.

Meanwhile, a total of 53 participants from across Sarawak registered to participate in the two-day (July 30-31) Jombola Sarawak 2022 Coaching and Technical Introductory Course conducted by four certified Jombola instructors from Kuala Lumpur.

According to Chukpai, the inaugural programme aimed to give exposure to coaches, participants and local Jombola sports fans throughout the State.

“We have also supplied them (participants) with four Jombola rackets and two balls to each, as an encouragement for them to develop and give exposure to the sport in their respective areas,” he added. — DayakDaily
