KUCHING, Dec 13: The Sarawak government is ramping up efforts to address significant delays in the Borneo Samariang Resort City (BSRC) project, developed by Sentoria Borneo Land Sdn Bhd.

According to a news report by Ukas, Deputy Sarawak Secretary (Economic Planning and Development) Dato Sri Dr Muhammad Abdullah Zaidel, conducted a site visit today to evaluate the stalled progress of the project.

As of Nov 21, four blocks—Blocks 4, 5, 9, and the Ataria Serviced Apartment—have shown little to no progress despite multiple agreements for constructing single-storey terrace units and serviced apartments.

For Blocks 4, 5, and 9, many units remain uncompleted, with only 243, 275, and 189 units approved, respectively.

Similarly, the Ataria Serviced Apartment has seen only 420 units approved, while the elevated water tank utility remains unfinished.

The Sarawak government’s proactive intervention underscored its commitment to resolving delays that have eroded public trust in major development projects.

This decisive action reflects the administration’s determination to ensure timely project completion, safeguard public and investor interests, and restore confidence in the State’s development initiatives.

The site visit was also attended by deputy permanent secretary to the Ministry of Public Health, Housing, and Local Government Abu Bakar Sepawi, Housing deputy controller Konsil Genam, deputy director of Operations for the Sarawak Land and Survey Department Sr Norlina Ra’ee, and other senior officials. — DayakDaily
