KUCHING, Feb 26: The Sarawak government has allotted eight acres of land and funds totaling RM20 million to Chung Hua Middle School No. 4 to facilitate the construction of a new school following the school’s planned relocation to Stutong.

According to Premier of Sarawak, Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg, the objective of this allocation is to provide a conducive learning environment for the students on top of an extensive space for the school’s extracurricular activities.

“The government has opted to assign five acres of land to the school and an additional three to the school’s trustees. We will also grant RM15 million to the school and RM5 million to the trustees,” said Abang Johari.

He delivered these remarks on Sunday (Feb 25) during the 2024 Chinese New Year dinner-cum-45th Anniversary Celebration of the Federation of Chinese Associations of Kuching, Kota Samarahan and Serian Divisions.

Among those present at the dinner were Deputy Sarawak Premier, Datuk Amar Dr Sim Kui Hian and Federation of Chinese Associations of Sarawak president Dato Richard Wee.

Abang Johari pointed out the State’s increased economic output enabled it to further enhance the educational facilities for Sarawakian children.
