BAU, Sept 5: The Sarawak government has approved an allocation of RM150,000 for essential repairs and upgrading of SMK Lake’s facilities and infrastructure.

In a news report by Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas), Deputy Minister of Transport Dato Henry Harry Jinep explained that of the total funding, RM100,000 will be utilised for the installation of new air-conditioners for the school hall.

“Meanwhile, RM20,000 is for the provision of new tables for classrooms and RM30,000 will go towards upgrading the roads within the school areas as various parts are damaged and with potholes,” he said when officiating at the SPM Golden Holiday 2022 programme at SMK Lake here on Saturday (Sept 3).

With the allocation, Henry, who is also Tasik Biru assemblyman, hopes that it will provide comfort to students and teachers and create a more conducive atmosphere for teaching and learning.

“To repay, I want all SMK Lake students to study hard and deliver excellent results for yourselves and the school in SPM (Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia) later,” he said.

Meanwhile, the SPM Golden Holiday 2022 is a three-day motivational programme involving 290 Form Five students.
