KUCHING, Sept 21: The Sarawak government has approved a fund of RM150,000 to upgrade the facilities of SMK Datuk Patinggi Haji Abdul (DPHA) Gapor.
Disclosing this, Kota Sentosa assemblyman Wilfred Yap Yau Sin said the fund is allotted under his Kota Sentosa constituency Rural Transformation Programme (RTP) fund.
“The fund will be use to upgrade the school’s toilet facilities as requested by the school earlier,” he said when officiating at the closing ceremony of the Bahasa Melayu Mastery Program 2023 and Presentation of SPM 2022 Top Scorers Award Ceremony held at SMK DPHA Gapor in Stampin, yesterday (Sept 20).
During the closing ceremony, Yap presented Certificates of Merit and incentive awards amounting to a total of RM8,300 to 36 SPM 2022 top scorers from the school who obtained 5A and above.
He also presented Minor Rural Project (MRP) grants of RM8,000 to the School’s Parent Teachers Association (PIBG) for organising the event and to help purchase dance costumes for their dance performances in competitions.
Yap assures his commitment to financially support and assist the school to organise school programmes and activities as well as upgrading unsatisfactory infrastructure for the comfort of both teachers and students of SMK DPHA Gapor. — DayakDaily
