KUCHING, July 25: Sarawak Governor Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar and his wife Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Fauziah Mohd Sanusi today took a flight operated by Sarawak-owned airline AirBorneo from Kuching to Kuala Lumpur.
According to a media release today, the couple boarded AirBorneo flight MY5005 from Kuching International Airport (KIA) at 1pm for the official journey to Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA), where the aircraft arrived safely according to schedule.
They were seen off at KIA by Sarawak Secretary and AirBorneo chairman Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki, who was accompanied by his wife Dato Hajah Baduyah Bujang.
Also present were Works Minister Dato Sri Alexander Nanta Linggi, AirBorneo board member Dato Philip Ting, AirBorneo chief operating officer R. Dharmaraj Naiker, senior marketing manager Lazim Yassin, and members of the airline’s senior management team.
Abu Bakar and Baduyah later accompanied the Governor and Toh Puan on the same flight to Kuala Lumpur.
During the journey, Wan Junaidi and Fauziah expressed their excitement and satisfaction with the service, hospitality and comfort provided by AirBorneo.
They also congratulated the Sarawak government for successfully establishing AirBorneo, describing it as a significant achievement in strengthening the State’s air transport sector.
Wan Junaidi said the establishment of AirBorneo was a strategic move that would enhance air connectivity between Sarawak, Peninsular Malaysia and regional destinations, while providing the people with more efficient, comfortable and quality air travel options.
He added that the Sarawak-owned airline would also play a role in supporting economic growth, tourism and the State’s future development. — DayakDaily
