Sarawak Governor and wife kick off National Day ‘Fun Walk’, uniting thousands in celebration

SIBU, Aug 31: Thousands flocked to Dataran Tun Tuanku Bujang today for a vibrant 2.4-kilometre ‘Fun Walk’, marking the 67th National Day celebration with a festive spirit of unity and patriotism.

The event, one of the highlights of this year’s celebrations, saw Sarawak Governor Tun Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar and his wife, Toh Puan Fauziah Mohd Sanusi, officiating the walk with a ceremonial gesture, setting the stage for a day of enjoyment and camaraderie.

According to a news report by Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas), the day started as early as 6am with all enthusiastic participants including distinguished guests joining an energetic aerobic session that ignited the day’s festivities and fostering a sense of community.

The morning continued with opportunities for the public to engage and capture memorable moments with Wan Junaidi and Fauziah.

The event was further amplified by an exhilarating Zumba session and lucky draws which offered 40 attractive prizes, adding to the day’s excitement.
