KUCHING, June 20: The formation of Sarawak Golf Association 2023 (SGA 2023) on June 16 marks a significant milestone for the golfing community in Sarawak.
According to a press release, the association shall enhance the growth of golfing activities, including junior development programmes, and maintain consistent standards and regulations.
“The Sarawak Golf Association 2023 emerges as a response to these challenges, as well as to unite golf clubs, organisations, and players under a single, cohesive entity,” said the press release.
The lineup includes:
- President: Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki (Sarawak Secretary and President of Kelab Golf Sarawak)
- Deputy President: Brian Chien Chai Ung (President of Samarahan Country Club)
- Vice President 1: Agan Maran (Captain of Kelab Golf Miri)
- Vice President 2: Dato Mohammad Medan Abdullah (Captain of Kelab Golf Bintulu)
- Captain: Abdul Jalil Abdul Rahman (Deputy President of Kelab Golf Sarawak)
- Deputy Captain: Wong Lay Nam (Captain of Kelab Golf Sibu)
- Secretary: Ting Kee Suen (Captain of Kelab Golf Sarawak)
- Assistant Secretary: Ting Kok Tiong (Secretary of Kelab Golf Bintulu)
- Treasurer: Lucas Lai Siet Chong (Secretary of Samarahan Country Club)
