MIRI, Feb 25: Swift action by the Sarawak Forestry Corporation (SFC) Bintulu on Thursday led to the rescue of a 15-foot female crocodile seen in January at the Sarawak Petchem Sdn Bhd.

Sarawak Petchem Sdn Bhd reported the crocodile’s presence when it was spotted around the riverbank close to the construction site. Since January this year, SFC Bintulu has been working on a rescue and evacuation plan.

According to SFC in their official Facebook page, the main reason for the evacuation of the crocodile is to ensure the safety of the workers within the vicinity.

The crocodile has been safely handed over to Taman Tumbina for further care.

SFC thanked Sarawak Petchem Sdn Bhd for their support throughout the rescue and evacuation process and Taman Tumbina residents for their assistance in handling and caring for the crocodile. — DayakDaily
