SANTUBONG, Dec 1: Sarawak is aiming for six foreign destinations after finalising the Sales and Purchase Agreement (SPA) for MASwings, a subsidiary of regional airline Malaysia Aviation Group (MAG).
According to a report by Sarawak Public Communication Unit (UKAS), Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg said the six destinations are Korea, Japan, Hong Kong, Bangkok (Thailand), Jakarta (Indonesia), and Frankfurt (Germany).
According to him, these flight destinations will provide tourism access to both places.
“My dream flight destinations are Korea, Japan, Hong Kong, Bangkok (Thailand), Indonesia in Jakarta, and Frankfurt in Germany.
“We can travel and bring tourists to Sarawak so that they can eat Kolok Mee and continue to sell among tourists,” he reportedly said when speaking at the Appreciation Ceremony and Excellent Service Awards of the Sarawak Financial Secretary’s Office at Damai Beach Resort last night (Nov 30).
Abang Johari also announced that the Sarawak government will purchase several new aircraft to accommodate these tourist destinations in the future.
Therefore, he hopes that the acquisition can be fully finalised next month.
