Sarawak Esports Association president Afiq Fadhli Narawi described the achievement as a historic milestone for esports in the State.

“After three editions of SUKMA featuring esports, we have finally secured our first gold medal.

“I am extremely proud of our athletes, coaches and team managers, who remained committed and worked tirelessly despite the many challenges throughout this journey.

“Their hard work, sacrifices and determination have made this achievement possible,” he told Sarawak Public Communication Unit (Ukas).

Afiq said the gold medal represented more than just a victory for the team, describing it as a collective achievement for everyone who had contributed to the growth and development of esports in Sarawak.

He said the triumph also demonstrated that Sarawak had the talent and resilience to compete at the highest level and emerge as champions.
