KUCHING, March 21: Sarawak Energy has implemented an emergency shutdown of the electricity supply in several areas across Kanowit, Song, and Kapit due to rising floodwaters.

In a statement on the Carina Sarawak Energy Facebook page, the areas are Sg Sibau Ulu, Nanga Tulie, Nanga Baleh, Pulau Pisang, Kpg Muhibbah Bleteh, Sg Embuaw, Sg Manap, Sg Song, Lubok Engkabang, Sg Selibut, Nanga Kebiaw, Sg Lijau, Temalat, Kpg Rian, Kanowit Water Treatment Pump House, parts of Nanga Poi, Rh Nyalong, Sg Baloh, and surrounding areas.

“Supply will be restored once floodwaters have subsided. To prevent potential electrical hazards from water damage, such as fire or electrocution, substations in flooded areas must be inspected and handled properly. We thank you for your understanding and patience,” said the post.
