KUCHING, June 21: Sarawak Energy has sent relief aid to Long Busang in Belaga, which was flooded due to a downpour recently.

In a press release, the power utility said rice and other staples were distributed to the 350 affected villagers via longboats travelling eight hours up the Balui River from Bakun jetty.

Sarawak Energy general manager (CSR) Jiwari Abdullah commented, “We hope the assistance we provided is able to give some respite given the impact of the flood on the community. We share the concerns of many for the safety of the villagers at Long Busang, and we are glad everyone came out safe.” — DayakDaily
