KUCHING, May 18: The Sarawak State Legislative Assembly (DUN) has unanimously passed the Supplementary Supply (2022) Bill, 2023, allowing an additional expenditure of RM179,840,387 on the fourth day of the DUN sitting today.
The Bill’s Second Supplementary Estimates of Ordinary Expenditure, 2022, was tabled by the Deputy Premier of Sarawak and Second Minister for Finance and New Economy, Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas.
Uggah noted that the additional expenditure is to meet the cost of various services incurred by various ministries and departments for which funds were not provided or insufficiently provided in the 2022 Estimates.
In addition, the Bill also sought approval for an additional expenditure of RM300. The amount required has been vired from savings among the subheads concerned.
The additional allocation is to meet the following Heads of expenditures, Head P01 (Land Infrastructure) RM50; Head P02 (Riverine Infrastructure) RM30; Head P03 (Government Buildings) RM20; Head P07 (Land Compensation and Residential Extension) RM40; Head P08 (Urban Development) RM20; Head P10 (Rural Development) RM10; Head P12 (Natural and Cultural Heritage) RM10; Head P13 (Public Finance) RM30; Head P14 (Planning and Development) RM20; Head P15 (Knowledge Society (K-Society) Development) RM20; Head P16 (Drainage and Irrigation) RM10; Head P19 (Social Development) RM20; Head 21 (Crop Agriculture) RM10; and Head P26 (Housing Development) RM10.
Earlier, the Bill was seconded by the Ministry of Women, Childhood, and Community Wellbeing Development (KPWK) Sarawak minister Datuk Seri Fatimah Abdullah. — DayakDaily
