KUCHING, Aug 15: Sarawak Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Dr Sim Kui Hian heads the list of 149 distinguished recipients of Sarawak State Honours, conferred by Sarawak Head of State (TYT), Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar, in a grand ceremonial event held at the Astana Negeri Sarawak here today.
According to a Sarawak Public Communication Unit (Ukas) news report, Dr Sim, who is also Sarawak Minister for Public Health, Housing, and Local Government (MPHLG), was the sole recipient of the prestigious Darjah Utama Yang Amat Mulia Bintang Kenyalang Sarawak Datuk Amar Bintang Kenyalang (DA), which carries the title ‘Datuk Amar’.
Following him in the honours list, Temenggong Dato Nunong Dandan was awarded the Darjah Panglima Setia Bintang Sarawak (PSBS), which grants the title ‘Dato’, while Fazzrudin Abdul Rahman, Political Secretary to the Sarawak Premier and Tupong Assemblyman, received the Darjah Johan Bintang Kenyalang (JBK).
Nine individuals were bestowed with the Darjah Pegawai Bintang Sarawak (PBS), including Bukit Semuja assemblyman John Ilus, Brigadier General Mohd Rosli Abu Bakar, Professor Dr David Perera, Abu Seman Suhaili, Annie Chiew Yen Moi, Bong Ngim Sin, Haidel Heli, Chai Ming Lu, and Sikong Lusek.
Additionally, 23 recipients were honoured with the Darjah Pegawai Bintang Kenyalang (PBK), 19 received the Pingat Perkhidmatan Bakti (PPB), 21 were conferred the Ahli Bintang Sarawak (ABS), 18 received the Ahli Bintang Kenyalang (ABK), 29 were awarded the Pingat Perkhidmatan Terpuji (PPT), and 27 were given the Bentara Bintang Sarawak (BBS).
Also present at the ceremony were Toh Puan Fauziah Mohd Sanusi, wife of Wan Junaidi, along with Dato Sri John Sikie Tayai, Minister in the Premier’s Department, Deputy Minister for Law and Native Customs, Jefferson Jamit, Deputy Minister for Energy and Environmental Sustainability Sarawak, Datuk Dr Hazland Abang Hipni, and Deputy State Secretary (Economic Planning and Development) Datu Dr Muhammad Abdullah Zaidel. — DayakDaily
