KUCHING, Feb 20: Malaysia’s education policy needs a robust structure which is not affected with every change of Minister, opines Datuk Dr Annuar Rapaee.
According to a news report from Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas) today, Dr Annuar, who is Sarawak Deputy Minister of Education, Innovation and Talent Development, said constant changes in the existing curriculum system will only confuse teachers and parents.
“Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek said that Malaysia’s curriculum level is the same as Singapore and Japan. I personally do not agree with that,” he said.
Dr Annuar said this during the ‘Solat Hajat Perdana Pelajar Islam SPM dan STPM 2022/2023’ programme held in conjunction with the ‘Isra’ & Mi’raj 2023/2024’ celebration at Assyakirin Mosque in Bintulu on Feb 18.
During the Dewan Rakyat sitting on Feb 16, Fadhlina said that Malaysia’s curriculum is on par with neighbouring countries such as Singapore and Japan.
She said that the finding was based on a comparative study conducted by the ministry. – DayakDaily
