KUCHING, June 12: Sarawak Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan led a Sarawak delegation on a visit to the award-winning Butchart Gardens in Brentwood Bay, British Columbia, Canada, yesterday (June 11).

“The garden is now one of the most popular tourist attractions in British Columbia, generating business and job opportunities for locals.

“It serves as a benchmark for the redevelopment and rehabilitation of former quarry sites and could be incorporated into Sarawak’s planning approval policy,” the release stated.

Accompanying Awang Tengah were Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Urban Development Sarawak, Datuk Len Talif Salleh; Deputy Minister in the Premier’s Department (Law, MA63, and State-Federal Relations) Datuk Sharifah Hasidah Syed Aman Ghazali; and other senior government officials. — DayakDaily
