KUCHING, April 16: Sarawak marked a significant milestone today with its debut at The Meetings Show Asia Pacific (TMS APAC) 2025, held at the Sands Expo and Convention Centre, Marina Bay Sands in Singapore, where it unveiled an enhanced Tribe Legacy Sarawak campaign under the powerful tagline ‘Driving Impact Together’.

According to a press release from Business Events Sarawak (BESarawak), the launch marks a renewed commitment to positioning Sarawak as the capital of legacy impact for Malaysia and Borneo through three transformative initiatives.

‘LEGACY360 – Business Events for a Sustainable Future’, scheduled for October 2, 2025, will be Southeast Asia’s first event dedicated to business event legacies. The event is expected to attract around 300 delegates from across the region to share social, economic, and environmental initiatives and take action for positive change. It will be held alongside Kind Borneo, a non-profit expo championing corporate social responsibility (CSR).

On October 3, 2025, Sarawak will also host the inaugural ‘Borneo Inspires Legacy Awards (BILA)’, the region’s first award ceremony recognising excellence in business event legacies. Eighteen awards will be presented across five categories, celebrating changemakers including vendors and members of the media.

The third initiative, ‘AI.LEGACY’, is an intelligent impact management system designed to monitor and report the tangible and intangible outcomes of business events held in Sarawak. The system aligns with the State’s Post Covid-19 Development Strategy (PCDS 2030) and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Meanwhile, speaking at the launch, Sarawak Minister for Tourism, Creative Industry, and Performing Arts (MTCP) Dato Sri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah said Sarawak is emerging as a developed, influential, and globally competitive hub for international business events.

Over the next two days, the Sarawak Pavilion — powered by BESarawak — will feature nine co-exhibitors showcasing their world-class products and services.

The co-exhibitors include Borneo Adventure Tours and Travel, Borneo Convention Centre Kuching, CPH Travel, Mulu and Miri Marriott Resort and Spa, Pullman Kuching, Pullman Miri Waterfront, Sheraton Kuching, and TechnoExpo.

Sarawakian food and beverage brands Kantin and The Bibber’s Tale are also adding local flair to the event — with Kantin serving authentic Sarawak laksa and The Bibber’s Tale crafting some of the finest cocktails.

“We thank them for being proud ambassadors of Sarawak’s hospitality and capability.

“Also, this year at Sarawak’s Pavilion, we are proud to celebrate our community-based products through special showcases and complimentary giveaways for visitors to experience and enjoy,” said Abdul Karim.
