Sarawak Covid-19 trend continues downward to 1,177 today

KUCHING, March 19: The number of Covid-19 cases in Sarawak continues to decrease to 1,177 today.

According to a report by Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC), the number of Category 2 patients remained the highest, recording 835 cases out of the total.


For other categories, there were 332 cases in Category 1, three cases in Category 3, four cases in Category 4, and three cases in Category 5.

In terms of district, Kuching registered 414 cases, followed by Bintulu with 126 cases, Bau 112 cases and Miri 110 cases.

Districts with double-digit infections were Sibu (85), Samarahan (71), Serian (53), Sri Aman (36), Sarikei (28), Betong (14), Mukah (14), and Limbang (10).

The others included Kabong (9); Dalat (8); Meradong, Kapit, Asajaya and Simunjan (7 each); Saratok (6); Daro, Pusa, Lawas, Tebedu and Subis (5 each); Kanowit and Telang Usan (4 each); Lundu, Tatau, Julau and Marudi (3 each); Lubok Antu, Matu and Sebauh (2 each), while Pakan and Selangau has one case each.

The cumulative number of Covid-19 cases in Sarawak now stands at 286,995.

Meanwhile, Sarawak reported three new deaths due to Covid-19 today, with two from Sibu and one from Kuching.

The victims, two female and one male, were aged between 73 and 82, and all had some form of comorbidities.— Dayakdaily
