Sarawak Covid-19 death toll pushed to 1,641 with 2 new deaths today

KUCHING, March 11: Sarawak recorded two new deaths today, pushing the overall death toll in the State to 1,641.

According to reports by the Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC), the two latest female victims were from Sibu and Limbang, aged 89 and 78 respectively.


Both of them had medical records of hypertension, dyslipidemia, heart disease and chronic lung disease.

Meanwhile, Sarawak registered 1,745 new Covid-19 cases today, with 1,723 cases in the mild categories and 22 more in the serious categories.

There were 762 Category 1’s, 961 Category 2’s, one Category 3, 18 Category 4’s, and three Category 5’s.

District-wise, Kuching reported 776 cases, Miri 197, Sibu 170, and Bintulu 100 cases.

Those with double-digit numbers were Serian (84), Samarahan (62), Bau (43), Sarikei (42), Kanowit (24), Sri Aman (23), Betong (20), Matu (19), Limbang (19), Mukah (18), Meradong (15), Kabong (13), Saratok (13), Simunjan (13), Daro (11), Marudi (11), and Lawas (10).

Other districts with new infections were Dalat (9), Pusa (7), Lundu (7), Subis (6), Asajaya (6), Kapit (5), Telang Usan (4), Pakan (4), Lubok Antu (3),  Beluru (2), Tatau (2), Selangau (2), Song (2), Tebedu (2), and Sebauh (1).

The cumulative number of Covid-19 cases now stands at 1,723. — DayakDaily
