Sarawak Covid-19 case count drops to 631, Lorong Cahaya Maju Cluster ends

KUCHING, March 27: There is yet another improvement in the Sarawak Covid-19 scenario as the State reports 631 cases today, over 300 cases less than yesterday.

Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) said of the total, only four were in the serious categories.


Breaking down the clinical categories, there were 212 in Category 1, 415 in Category 2, two in Category 3, and one each in Categories 4 and 5.

In terms of districts, Kuching contributed the most with 191 cases, followed by Miri with 118 cases.

Those with double-digit case numbers were Bintulu (69), Sibu (61), Samarahan (35), Serian (24), Sri Aman (17), Bau (15), Sarikei (13), Simunjan (13), Subis (13), Mukah (11), and Matu (11).

Other districts with new infections included Betong (6), Saratok (4), Dalat, Kapit, Tebedu, Asajaya, Kabong (3 each), Lundu, Kanowit, Tatau (2 each), Marudi, Daro, Lubok Antu, Lawas, Telang Usan, Julau, Beluru, Sebauh, and Selangau (1 each).

Meanwhile, the Lorong Cahaya Maju Cluster expired today after reporting zero new cases for 28 consecutive days.

Sarawak is left with seven active clusters as of this day. — DayakDaily
