KUCHING, Jan 9: Sarawak confirmed 22 new Covid-19 cases today, a slight increase compared to yesterday’s 15 cases.
This pushed the cumulative number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in Sarawak to 252,498, while the death toll remains at 1,619 as no deaths were reported today.
According to Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) in a statement, of the new cases recorded, one case was reported in critical condition under Category 5, as the patient suffers from lung infection and requires breathing aid.
A total of 11 cases are under Category 2 with mild symptoms, while 10 other cases in Category 1 are asymptomatic.
By district, Lawas reported the most with six cases, followed by Sibu with five cases, while Bintulu and Limbang reported two cases each.
Other districts, namely Miri, Samarahan, Kuching, Sri Aman, Song, Mukah, and Sebauh reported only one case each.
As of today, no clusters were identified in Sarawak. ― DayakDaily
