KUCHING, Sept 29: Sarawak State Civil Service Innovative and Creative Circle (KIK) Teams have won four gold awards at the International Convention Quality Control Circle (ICQCC).
This was not the first time Sarawak Civil Service showed outstanding performance at international level but this was the first time that it bagged four gold awards at one time.
The prestigious convention of ICQCC was organized by the United of Japanese Scientists and Engineers (JUSE) which was held between September 21 to 27 at the KEIO Plaza Hotel, Tokyo, Japan.
The convention was also held in collaboration with productivity bodies of participating countries which hold the same role as Malaysia Productivity Corporation (MPC).
Participants came from 16 countries from Asia, Europe and North America. There were in total 370 teams participated in the convention.
Participating groups from Sarawak were led by Sarawak State Secretary, Datu Jaul Samion along with the Do It 3 Team (Sarawak State Treasury Department), the Hummer Team (Sarawak Timber Development Corporation (STIDC), the Forcescap Team (Miri City Council), and the Jagu Team (Sri Aman District Council).
They were accompanied by several senior officers who attended the convention as observers.
In this convention, Sarawak was honoured with the highest number of awards, which is a meaningful achievement to the State as it signified the success of 10-year implementation of SCS 10-20 Transformation Journey Action Plan.
Jaul said he was pleased that the innovative and creative working culture adopted by Sarawak civil service was globally recognised.
He urged the heads of department to play an important role in fostering the culture that emphasized on innovation and quality in service delivery. — DayakDaily
