KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 8: The Sarawak Civil Service once again demonstrated its commitment to excellence by receiving a Special Award at Majlis SIRIM Industri 2024 held at Sunway Resort Hotel in Petaling Jaya last night (Nov 7).
This recognition was awarded following the outstanding achievements of the Sarawak Civil Service which was listed in the Malaysia Book of Records for its success in implementing the MS ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System.
This achievement also highlights Sarawak’s continuous efforts to enhance efficiency and quality in public service management to ensure the highest standards of service delivery for its people.
According to a report by the Sarawak Public Communication Unit (UKAS) today, Deputy Sarawak Secretary (Operation) Datu Hii Chang Kee said this recognition is a testament to the Sarawak Civil Service’s commitment to further empower quality public services for the well-being of the people.
“This achievement will serve as inspiration for us to attain greater success and to ensure that every department and agency adopts competitive management practices,” he was quoted saying.
Meanwhile, the director of the Sarawak Transformation and Innovation Unit (STIU), Superi Awang Said, noted that this accomplishment was the result of the dedication of the entire workforce who are committed to embedding innovation and integrity within the public service.
He added that Sarawak civil servants take pride in and are determined to continue driving high-impact transformations that benefit the rakyat and the development of Sarawak.
SIRIM, as the national agency for standards and quality, awarded this recognition as proof of the Sarawak Civil Service’s capability in consistently planning, implementing, and improving management processes in line with international standards.
It is understood that the MS ISO 9001:2015 standard acknowledges quality management practices that prioritise customer satisfaction and organisational effectiveness.
The Sarawak Civil Service will continue its efforts to enhance quality management systems as part of Sarawak’s goal to achieve developed State status by 2030. — DayakDaily
