KUCHING, Aug 6: Sarawakian Dr Jessie Chung, better known by her stage name JessC and currently an international recording artist based in Australia, has been named Gold Winner – Pop Vocal at the 2026 Fenix Music Awards in Europe and has also secured three nominations at the prestigious Josie Music Awards in the United States, marking another milestone in her international music career.
The achievements were announced during the JessC USA Music Awards Celebration Dinner held at a restaurant here on Wednesday (Aug 5) night, attended by more than 400 guests, including business leaders, community representatives, family members, teachers, classmates, friends and media practitioners.
Signed to Future Global Entertainment Australia, JessC is recognised internationally as the “U.S. Awarded Pop Queen” and the “Golden Voice Queen of Europe.” The event celebrated her accomplishments over the past year and highlighted several new milestones in music, philanthropy and sports.
According to a media release, JessC’s song One Chance had been named Gold Winner – Pop Vocal at the 2026 Fenix Music Awards, making her the only recipient of the Gold Winner honour globally in the category this year.
The award recognised her artistic achievements while reinforcing her commitment to creating music with a positive social message.
JessC’s original music is distributed globally through Universal Music Group and has gained significant international exposure. Over the past year, she released original albums in Chinese, English and Malay, generating more than 1,500 media reports across over 30 countries.
Her songs have been aired on more than 150 radio stations in over 100 cities worldwide and featured on more than 50 international radio stations and music charts. Her music videos on YouTube have accumulated more than 30 million views.
JessC has also received international media recognition, including two features in Rolling Stone and appearances in Billboard Italia.
Beyond her music career, JessC holds doctoral qualifications in Oncology and Health Sciences and is a certified therapeutic musician. She has championed the use of healing music to support individuals facing illness, emotional difficulties and personal challenges.
During the dinner, it was announced that JessC had received three nominations at the 2026 Josie Music Awards in Nashville, Tennessee, namely World Artist of the Year, Social Impact Song of the Year and Social Impact Video of the Year.
The nominations will see her invited to the iconic Grand Ole Opry House, where artists from around the world will gather for the awards ceremony.
JessC also shared that she had recently received the W.I.S.H. Global Most Influential Women in Performing Arts Award on July 31, in recognition of her contributions to the performing arts and community-focused initiatives.
As part of the celebration, JessC performed a seven-song set that included the newly crowned award-winning track One Chance, alongside original and classic songs in Chinese, English and Malay.
Addressing guests, she said the evening was less about awards and more about expressing gratitude to those who had supported her journey.
“Tonight is not about celebrating how many awards I have received. It is about expressing my deepest gratitude to everyone who has walked this journey with me,” she said.
Looking ahead, JessC said she plans to continue producing original music in multiple languages while expanding her healing music initiatives.
She also revealed plans to bring the international production Echoes of Artistry to Kuching in January 2027, featuring a blend of music, dance, martial arts, Chinese cultural elements and contemporary stage performance.
