Sarawak and Australian business chambers forge collaboration opportunities in recent talks

KUCHING, May 9: The Associated Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Sarawak (ACCCIS) and Australia Malaysia Business Chamber Western Australia (AMBCWA) have engaged in talks to explore potential areas of collaboration between the two Chambers in a recent meeting in Perth, Australia.

The delegation from ACCCIS, led by Dato Tan Jit Kee who is the president of ACCCIS and the Kuching Chinese Chinese General Chamber of Commerce & Industry (KCGCCI), visited the AMBCWA headquarters in Perth.

Accompanying Tan were vice president cum organising chairman for the 133rd anniversary celebration of KCGCCI, secretary general Dato Jonathan Chai and its Digital Economy chairman Rodger Chan.


They were warmly received by AMBCWA president Keith Anthonisz and vice president Bernard Chia.

According to the a media release, Tan was invited to deliver a speech on the Sarawak-based chambers, the Sarawak economy, investment opportunities and the upcoming 133rd anniversary of KCGCCI to the members of AMBCWA.

The event also featured a dialogue focused on identifying potential areas of collaboration between the two chambers.

The Sarawak chambers also extended invitation to ACBCWA members to attend the 133rd Anniversary celebration dinner of KCGCCI and Young Entrepreneurs Committee 10th Anniversary, the 77th Annual General Meeting of ACCCIM and the 12th Young Entrepreneurs Conference of ACCCIM scheduled for July 6 to 8.

The AMBCWA is a non-profit organisation established to support partnership, investment, networking in promoting trade, provide linkages among business community and government to improve relations and to develop new market opportunities between Malaysia, Australia, and Western Australia.
