KUCHING, Oct 1: Sarawak Agrofest 2023 which was held at Celebration Square, Petra Jaya here recorded a total of 300,000 visitors and RM2 million in sales from Sept 22 until today (Oct 1).
Minister of Food Industry, Commodity and Regional Development Sarawak (M-FICORD) Dato Sri Dr Stephen Rundi Utom said the 10-day event had exceeded its target of 100,000 visitors.
He also announced that Sarawak Agrofest would return in a bigger format next year.
“I would like to thank the Sarawak government especially Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg because the Sarawak Cabinet has agreed to organise a bigger Sarawak Agrofest next year,” he said during the postponement ceremony for Sarawak Agrofest 2023 at the site today.
He also revealed that Abang Johari has agreed for a mini version of the agrofest to be organised in other divisions in the State.
Also present were Deputy Minister of Food Industry, Commodity and Regional Development (Food Industry) Datuk Dr Abdul Rahman Ismail; Deputy Minister of Food Industry, Commodity and Regional Development (Commodity and Regional Development) Martin Ben; Advisor in the Office of the Premier of Sarawak (Food Industries, Commodities and Regional Development) Tan Sri William Mawan Ikom; and M-FICORD permanent secretary Sirai Daha. — DayakDaily
