MIRI, March 5: An 18-year-old teen is feared to have drowned after falling into a river at a dockyard in Kuala Baram, late yesterday evening.
The young male is believed to have slipped off a platform after bathing.
The Lutong fire station received a call about the incident at 6.38pm.
Its chief Henry Jugah said, firefighters from the fire station were mobilised to the scene.
“The missing teen was wearing nothing but short pants,” said Henry.
Upon arriving at the scene last night, firefighters searched along the riverbank, but were not able to locate the missing youth.
The search and rescue operation (SAR) was postponed at 8pm.
The search was expected to resume today at 8.30am. — DayakDaily
