SAR operation deployed after teenager falls into river in Kuala Tatau

KUCHING, Jan 18: A search and rescue (SAR) operation was deployed after a 14-year-old boy was reported to have fallen into a river near Kampung Hilir in Kuala Tatau, Bintulu today.

Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) operation centre, in a statement today said, they received a report regarding the incident at 1.28 pm and a team of three firefighters led by PBT Jankey Jikat was rushed to the location.

“The SAR operation started at 2 pm today, where a surface searching method was used by firefighters covering a two-nautical mile radius,” it said.


The SAR operation, which were joined by the local folks, was halted at 6 pm and will resume tomorrow. — DayakDaily
