SAR for elderly missing woman underway, 60 villagers join in search

SAR operations for Ra'obah Morni, who was reported missing at Kampung Semarang Pusa.

SARATOK, Nov 14: A search-and-rescue (SAR) operation for a missing elderly woman at Kampung Semarang Pusa began today, with rescuers concentrating on five locations.

Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) operations centre disclosed that Ra’obah Morni, 69, failed to return home from the farm since yesterday. They received the emergency call from Beladin police district at 10.06pm.

Family members said Ra’obah have gone to the farm, about 15 minutes walk from their village by herself.


Failing to return by 4.30pm, they seek help from fellow villagers to find her but failed.

However, they found her packed and untouched food in the farm hut. She was also reportedly suffering from hearing and vision problems.

Ra’obah was last seen wearing a maroon t-shirt and black trousers.

SAR operation led by Saratok fire station chief PPgB Nazry Mohamat saw 60 villagers joining personnel from Bomba, police, civil defence and Rela to look for Ra’obah, searching within 1km radius from her farm hut. – DayaKDaily
