Santubong fisherman reported missing found safe at home

SANTUBONG, Oct 20: A local fisherman was found safe at home after he had been assumed missing for four days near Pantai Puteri.

The 28-year-old fisherman was reported missing after he was last seen setting a fishing net near Pantai Puteri, in Santubong on Thursday.

A Search and Rescue (SAR) operation was mounted starting Oct 19 near the Damai Golf Club, after a report of the missing person was lodged at Santubong Police station. The SAR operation was ended after the man was found safe.


According to a report from the State Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) today, the man was found to be safe after he returned home by himself.

The SAR operation involved Bomba and Civil Defence Force (APM) personnel, together with Kilat 35 APMM (OSC) personnel, and local villagers. — DayakDaily
