KUCHING, Feb 25: The RM5.6 billion allocation for Sarawak is seen as an ‘improvement’ and sufficient for now, says Samariang assemblywoman Datuk Sharifah Hasidah Sayeed Aman Ghazali.

In a report by the Sarawak Public Communication Unit (Ukas), the Deputy Minister in the Premier’s Department (Law, State-Federal Relations, and Project Monitoring) praised the revised Budget 2023 tabled by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim yesterday (Feb 24).

She said it was aimed to reduce any leakage in all allocations and to move forward in line with the concept of ‘Malaysia Madani’.

“We need more allocations to continue our water and electricity supply and road infrastructure programmes. We also need to develop our rural areas.

“I feel that there is an improvement that we must welcome, which is very good for Sarawak. Of course, if it is up to us, we need more allocation to develop Sarawak, but it is sufficient for now,” she said after officiating at the Tatai Kumang Eco Park today.
