Samarahan reverts to orange zone status from red zone

KUCHING, March 6: Samarahan reverted to orange zone status from the red zone status after zero new Covid-19 infection cases were recorded in the past 14-days.

The State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) in a press statement today said Samarahan only reported a total of 35 cases in the last two weeks.

“Two other districts namely Bukit Mabong and Tatau also returned to the yellow zone status after not reporting any new cases in the last two weeks as both districts have recorded only 19 and one cases of infection respectively in the past 14-days,” it said.


SDMC noted Selangau, Betong, Meradong, Kuching, Kapit, Bintulu, Miri and Sibu are still in the red zone status with a total of 2,712 cases reported in the last 14-days.

The statement said eight districts namely Kanowit, Sarikei, Serian, Julau, Subis, Bau, Dalat and Sri Aman also remain in the orange zone status with 244 cases reported in the last 14-days.

“Marudi, Mukah, Pusa, Song, Asajaya, Beluru, Saratok and Sebauh also stayed as the yellow zone status with only 59 cases of infection recorded in the previous 14-days, while 13 other districts continue with their green zone status,” the statement read. –DayakDaily.
