SAMARAHAN, Dec 17: The Samarahan Eagles football team is already preparing itself to train its current players and scout for new ones in order to participate in competitive leagues in Sarawak next year.

According to a report by Bilik Berita Cats FM, the team patron and advisor Dato Idris Buang declared his full support to the squad and hopes that many relevant parties will do the same to assist it in getting ready for any tournaments.

Even this morning, the team had its first friendly match against The Cops, consisting of players from the Sarawak police with a 4-3 win at Sarawak Sports Corporation (SSC) football field in Kuching.

The coach Ahmad Nurfaizal Patrick Abdullah said such matches were very important to him in evaluating the strengths and weaknesses of the squad.

“Samarahan Eagles will also conduct a tour beginning early next year to scout potential and quality players to be absorbed into the team.

“The main focus would be to find players below the age of 20 to wear the Samarahan Eagles jersey,” the report said. — DayakDaily
