KUCHING, April 12: A total of 300 participants have been targeted to join the 9th Edition of the Samarahan Bike Challenge 2025 set to take place on June 22 along Jalan Datuk Mohd Musa in Kota Samarahan.
According to the Sarawak Public Communication Unit (UKAS), this was announced by the Samarahan Bike Challenge 2025 organising committee during a courtesy call to Minister for Youth, Sports, and Entrepreneur Development, Sarawak Dato Sri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah, at his office on April 11.
The committee consists of the Samarahan District Office, the Divisional Tourism Taskforce Group (DTTG) Samarahan, the Sarawak Cycling Association (Technical Division), and several other stakeholders.
This cycling event, which is open to the public, will feature seven main categories, namely Men’s Open (21 years and above), Sarawak Closed, Veteran (40 years and above), Ladies’ Open, Junior (16 to 20 years), Youth Men (15 years and below), and Youth Women (15 years and below).
In addition, various activities have also been planned to attract participation from the local community and tourists.
Abdul Karim also expressed the ministry’s full support for the event, hoping that it would be implemented smoothly and that it would benefit the development of cycling in the State, as well as the tourism sector.
