KUCHING, July 31: Sarawak Information Systems Sdn Bhd (SAINS) chief executive officer, Busiai Seman, was honoured with the 2026 World Innovation Leadership Award in recognition of his leadership, business achievements, and contributions to innovation and the wider community.
In a press release, the award was presented by Tun Seri Setia Dr Mohd Ali Mohd Rustam, the Governor of Melaka, at the inaugural World Business Chamber (WBC) Dinner on Thursday (July 30).
“The World Business Chamber is a global platform that promotes responsible business, strategic collaboration, and sustainable growth, connecting business leaders and entrepreneurs from around the world to foster innovation and economic development,” said the press release.
Busiai was recognised for his leadership in supporting Sarawak’s digital transformation journey through strategic technology initiatives.
Under his leadership, SAINS has continued to strengthen digital government services, cybersecurity, cloud infrastructure, artificial intelligence (AI), and sovereign digital capabilities, contributing to Sarawak’s aspiration to become a leading digital economy.
“This recognition reflects Busiai Seman’s leadership and the collective efforts of the SAINS team in driving innovation and supporting Sarawak’s digital transformation agenda,” it said.
Also present were KSI Strategic Institute for Asia Pacific honorary patron Tun Datuk Seri Zaki Tun Azmi, who is also the former chief justice of Malaysia; deputy chairman Datuk Seri Mohamed Iqbal Rawther; and WBC president Tan Sri Michael Yeoh. — DayakDaily
