Sagah: People’s support must be reciprocated with devt, transform 8 Bidayuh areas into ‘Greater Kuching’

KUCHING, July 13: Minister of Education, Innovation, and Talent Development Datuk Roland Sagah Wee Inn stated that the people’s support must be reciprocated by planning and bringing development to their respective constituencies.

According to the Sarawak Public Communication Unit (Ukas), Sagah also mentioned that the people need to work with their elected representatives to fulfil the wishes of Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg, in order to transform the eight Bidayuh areas into “Greater Kuching”.

“We (the Bidayuh community) only have eight elected representatives, and now is the time for us to transform the people’s support in the last election into development,” he said when closing the 2022 Prima Bidayuh Football Carnival at the Bau Indoor Stadium in Bau on Monday (July 11).


Meanwhile, during the football carnival, the Tasik Biru constituency won the youth division of the tournament after defeating the Opar constituency team by a score of 2-1.

The Tasik Biru constituency team then doubled their championship by defeating the Serembu constituency team’s challenge for the veteran category with a 3-0 score.

Also present at the ceremony were Deputy Minister of Transport (Aviation and Road) Datuk Dr Jerip Susil who is also Mambong assemblyman, Deputy Minister of Transport (Riverine and Marine) Dato Henry Harry Jinep (Tasik Biru), and Deputy Minister of Modernisation of Agriculture and Regional Development Martin Ben (Kedup).

Other Bidayuh assemblymen namely Miro Simuh (Serembu), John Ilus (Bukit Semuja), Dr Simon Sinang Bada (Tebedu) and Billy Sujang (Opar) also turned up at the event. — DayakDaily
