KUCHING, Jan 10: Sacofa Sdn Bhd has stepped forward to sponsor RM10,000 for Kuching Toastmasters Club (KTMC) to carry out its Youth Communication Camp (YCC) programme for the year 2019.
Its managing director, Zaid Zaini praised KTMC for organising the camps successfully which have benefitted over 150 students from Kuching and Samarahan each year since 2012.
“Sacofa has always placed utmost importance on the wellbeing of the community, more so on the future generation so we are pleased to contribute to this programme,“ he said in a press statement from KTMC today.
The Youth Communication Camp, with Minister of Tourism, Arts, Culture, Youth and Sports Datuk Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah as guest-of-honour in his role as Patron, will be run based on an international programme, covering public speaking, team building, leadership development and showcasing of talents.
The 2019 camp will be held from Sept 14 to 16 at the 1st Infantry Division Headquarters Malaysia Muara Tuang Camp with the support of the Malaysian Army. It will be facilitated by 30-40 seasoned local and foreign Toastmasters, and is anticipating some 200 participating school students.
Over the years, the camp has also received sponsorship from corporate bodies including Cahya Mata Sarawak Berhad, Sarawak Energy Berhad, Hong Seng Lee Berhad, Titanium Foundation, and Quality Concrete Berhad. — DayakDaily
